The Generic name for Nasacort is Triamcinolone Nasal.
Nasacort (Triamcinolone Nasal) is a steroid that prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Used to help treat nasal seasonal symptoms that many allergy suffers experience such as congestion, sneezing and runny itchy noses. Nasacort is a metered dose pump nasal spray that works by relieving the symptoms of hay fever and inflammation within the nasal passages. It can be used either for seasonal attacks of hay fever or for year-round allergic conditions.

Adults and Children 12 Years and Older:Take this medication as it directed by your doctor. Do not take larger amounts than directed
The recommended starting dosage is two sprays in each nostril, once a day.
One spray in each nostril, taken twice daily is also effective.
Maximum total daily dosage should not exceed two sprays in each nostril.
To take Nasacort:
- Blow your nose gently.
- If using the spray for the first time, shake the spray bottle gently then prime the pump, away from your face, until a fine mist appears. Prime the spray pump any time you have not used your spray for longer than 14 days.
- Tilt your head back, press one nostril closed and insert the tip of the bottle a short way into the other nostril. Not too far up though.
- Pump the spray bottle and sniff gently at the same time. Then pull the tip of bottle away from your nose.
- Repeat with the other nostril. Avoid blowing your nose for 15 minutes.
It may take a few days of using Nasacort before your symptoms improve. Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after a week of treatment.
Store Nasacort at room temperature. Keep in an upright position with the cover and clip on the nasal spray pump when not in use. Throw the medication away after you have used 120 sprays.
Missed Dosage
Take Nasacort as soon as you remember the missed dose. If it is almost time for your next dose, do not take the one you missed but go back to your regular scheduled time. Do not take 2 doses at once to make up the missed dose.What to avoid when taking Nasacort
Nasacort can lower blood cells in your body that help fight infections. This can make it easier to bleed from an injury or get sick from being around others who are not well.Side effects of Nasacort:
While taking Nasacort, you may suffer some mild side effects. This is not a complete list of side effects. Tell your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effect.- Stinging, burning or bleeding of the nose
- Sneezing after using the medicine
- Sore throat, cough, stuffy nose
- Watery eyes
- Headache
- Nausea, vomiting
- Ear Pain, hearing problems
- An unpleasant taste or smell
Below are very uncommon side effects which people generally do not experience
Get emergency medical help if these signs of allergic reactions occur:
hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop taking Nasacort ands contact your doctor if you have any of these side effects:
- Weakness, tired feeling, nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss
- Fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms
- Easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness
- White patches or sores inside your mouth or on your lips
Not recommended for people who
Before taking Nasacort, tell your doctor if you are allergic to triamcinolone or any form of drugs or if you have:- Tuberculosis
- Any type of infection
- Had recent surgery or injury to your nose
- Taking prescription or over-the-counter medications (including vitamins, minerals and herbal products
